Ganesh Chaturthi 2018: What Not To Wear This Festive Season. Ditch These Colours, Textures & Silhouettes
Ganesh Utsav is one of the most celebrated festivals in the country, which means that most of us aim to put our best foot forward when it comes to styling. Here are some pointers you need to keep in mind while selecting your Ganpati wardrobe this year
Are you already
making calls to your stylists and tailors for the last minute fittings? Or you
fall in the category of last minute shoppers? Like me! Well, if latter is the
case, then this piece might help you in picking a stylish and comfortable
wardrobe for Ganesh Utsav. As your wallet will take the hit in the next 11
days, might as well put the money in choosing the right stuff.
Here are a few
examples to show you what colours, textures and silhouettes you should avoid
this Ganesh Utsav. While white is one of my favourite colours too, but for
festive season, I'd say let's pack it in the closet. Beige and off-whites can
follow in too.
Manushi Chhillar
For instance,
Manushi's beige floral embroidered lehenga can be a very boring pick for Ganesh
pandal visits. Even if you incorporate this combination into an anarkali, think
about your selfies and pictures turning out to be dull.
Kriti Kharbanda
Same is the case
with Kriti Kharbanda, who has added a pop of colour with pink, yet the overall
look doesn't impress much. Also, let's come out of floral
embroidery.
Warina Hussain and Yami Gautam
Warina Hussain
and Yami Gautam have also opted for lighter and pastel hues but I'd rather say
that their outfit's style is more of a concern than the colour. Loose
anarkali's, full-sleeves, simple 'A' lines- yawn, yawn, yawn! Meanwhile, Yami
pairs a sharara with a tunic- No, do not follow!
Urvashi Rautela
Now, while
avoiding whites, pastels and lighter colours, one should also keep in mind that
going extremely flashy is also not the best choice either. Take a look at
Urvashi Rautela- bad choice of colour, silhouette and accessories.
Keep it bright
but not over the top. Choose colours like bright yellow, magenta, teal green,
firozi blue and if allergic to bright colours- then choose black- the safest
bet. Tone it down with nude make-up and light glossy lips. Accessorize
your look by opting for silver chunky neck pieces, if not a neck piece person,
then keep it classy with heavy danglers. So, I hope these tips help and
you step out looking no less than a diva this Ganesh Utsav.
